COMMUNITIES
Move More Communities
The ambition is that all communities in Sheffield can experience the benefits of physical activity in a way that works for them, this will contribute to creating vibrant, healthy communities across Sheffield. This applies to communities that are bound by geography or communities that come together because they share something important, such as heritage, religion or a health-related factor.
The Move More Communities Group aims to identify opportunities and support communities across Sheffield to become more active through effective collaboration and communication.
The group will have an overview of several projects taking place in Sheffield:
The above showcases some of the citywide project work currently taking place in Sheffield. We know there is much more happening at a local level that we can be incredibly proud of.
We will continue to link with partners from across the City to help understand, collaborate and learn from one another and aim to connect opportunities locally to the areas and communities that will benefit the most.
We also want to build sustainable links with our People Keeping Well areas and understand what is happening locally across Sheffield.

Move More Empowered Communities
Move More Empowered communities wants to support communities to move more where they live. By doing this, we want to understand the approaches that are most likely to make this work, what helps, and what doesn’t. It’s a group effort including VCS community organisations, Voluntary Action Sheffield, Sheffield City Council, Sheffield Hallam University, and Sport England
If you are interested in sharing your experience of what works, what doesn’t, and what the opportunities are when it comes to physical activity in the community, then just drop Adam Batty at Voluntary Action Sheffield an email.
