Move More for Mental Health

Move More for Mental Health aims to support people with severe or complex mental health difficulties to become more physically active in a sustainable way.

Improving the physical health of people living with mental illness is a national priority. Evidence shows that people with mental health conditions are more likely than the general population to have physical health issues, yet they face additional barriers to becoming active.

The MM4MH project strived to learn lessons from Get Set to Go and design a programme unique to Sheffield adapting to the organisations involved. It has been an iterative process, changing and adapting from the lessons learned over time. Many organisations and people with lived experience of mental illness have come together to explore, deliver and design a Sheffield based approach for people with Complex or Severe Mental Illness (SMI) to become more physically active in a sustainable way.

Check out the two posters below that explain the project in more detail.
