ACTIVITIES FOR OLDER ADULTS

Being active is good for our physical and mental wellbeing. This is why we should all try to move regularly, including exercises to help stay strong and steady.

This particularly applies to those of us who have health conditions or are older. Due to coronavirus we are all staying home more, so it is important that we find ways to build activity into our day, every day.

Walking

When you find exercise difficult or aren't sure how to be more active, walking is a great activity.

A daily walk, even if it's just a 10 or 15 minute stroll, it is still really good for you.

A Little Everyday

Don't feel that you have to take long walks every day.

It's better to make walking a part of your everyday routine. If your pace makes you feel a bit out of breath, but you can still hold a conversation, that's ideal. Remember, any kind of activity is better than nothing!
